Lab Chimps See the Sun for the First Time in Their Lives! (Video)

You have probably already heard the news, but since we have found four minutes long video in high definition, we just had to show you full footage of this touching story.

In short, a group of chimpanzees saw the sunlight for the first time in their lives after being locked in cages for medical testing in a research facility in Austria.

Most of them were kidnapped from African jungles as babies and flown to Europe where they were locked in laboratory cages for decades.

Chimps were used in a long series of experiments and were exposed to HIV and hepatitis (program was completely useless!).

Several years ago, the giant American pharmaceutical company Baxter took over the Austrian laboratory, and immediately announced it had no intention of continuing the testing program.

Unfortunately, it took years before poor monkeys were moved to Gut Aiderbichl Animal Sanctuary.

Just look at their joy while breathing the fresh air.
