A Chicago man shot in the back of the head early Monday, managed to drive himself to a nearby South Side hospital.
The Chicago Tribune reports that the victim, a 36-year-old man, was driving in his Ford Focus when a bullet shot him in the head in the 1300 block of East 74th Street in the Grand Crossing neighborhood at about 12:03 a.m. The shooting may have been a drive-by, police said.
Despite his injury, the man was still conscious and able to talk. He managed to drive himself to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, which was about six blocks away, where he recounted his tale to police
No arrests have been made, and a motive in the shooting remained unclear.
