Mog, the cat that suffered nerve damage and lost the use of his front two legs after being knocked down in a hit-and-run incident in February, is learning to walk again by taking swimming lessons in a hydrotherapy pool at Hawksland canine centre in St Issey, Cornwall.
Owner Veronica Ashworth, 62, was told her pet would never walk again, but after ten weeks of £30 sessions in the pool, Mog’s condition is improving and now he can bear his own weight on his front two legs.
“Most cats do anything to avoid water, but he seems to really like swimming in the pool. He takes it quite seriously. There is still a significant amount of nerve damage but he has already improved,” said Mrs Ashworth to Daily Mail.
