Canada Sets a New Record for World’s Largest Ice Cream Cake (Video)

Hundreds of people turned out on Tuesday in Toronto to witness Dairy Queen Canada making history with a gigantic 10.13 ton ice cream cake, setting a new Guinness World Record.

Twenty-two Dairy Queen experts, who worked on the cake for 14 hours, used more than 9,000 kilograms of ice cream, 91 kilograms of sponge cake and 136 kilograms of icing and crushed Oreo cookies.

The event marked the 30th birthday of DQ’s ice cream cake as company beat the previous record for the world’s largest ice cream cake, which was set in Beijing in 2006, by nearly 500 pounds (227 kilograms).
