Rescuers in Japan pulled two survivors, a woman and a man, four days after a devastating earthquake and tsunami, local media reported.
Sai Abe, a 70-year-old woman, was found alive in the quake-hit town of Otsuchi in Iwate prefecture. She was suffering from hypothermia but was conscious and not in a life-threatening condition.
A man in his 20’s was rescued in the town of Ishimaki in hard-hit Miyagi prefecture. He suffered leg injuries that prevented him from escaping his home, public broadcaster NHK said. He was lying under the debris.
