The 11-year-old Supatra Sasuphan from Pranakom, Thailand, has been officially recognized as the hairiest girl in the world by the Guinness Book of Records.
Supatra, nicknamed Nat, suffers from very rare Ambras syndrome, or Congenital Hypertrichosis – meaning she has excessive hair covering her face and parts of her body.
There are fewer than 40 cases documented worldwide of people with this genetic condition after it was first described in Austria in 1648.
“There were a few people who used to tease me and call me monkey face but they don’t do it any more,” said delighted Nat after her new found fame has helped her become one of the most popular girls in school, reports The Sun.
Supatra hopes she will be cured one day.
